On Saturday nights you would most likely find me researching various aspects of psychology, from psychopathology to behavioral neuroscience; constantly learning is undeniably one of my favorite and most fulfilling pastimes. Statistics of the subject always fascinated me as well; I was awarded the AP Statistics Award in high school for understanding and excelling in the subject, and also helping others to excel. Also, despite my social awkwardness, I am an extremely quixotic and intuitive individual. Or, perhaps my awkward quirks are simply the result of having an uncanny insight into the minds and motives of others. I was not only captain of my high school tennis team, but the team counselor as well. Quite frequently, troubled individuals I had never met seem to seek me out, and randomly mention, then proceed to elaborate on, their current issues, and I listen. I nod. I empathize. I watch their body language to decipher what may be coming next in their stories so that I am ready to respond correctly and constructively. By being so naturally aware of other people’s feelings, needs, and ideals, I am more than able to contribute to, help, and work well with others.
