I graduated from George Mason University, where I obtained my B.A. in Global Affairs. My focus was on International Development. During my time at college, I had the opportunity to travel to South America through a study abroad program. I attended a school in Peru, which helped me further my studies of cultural anthropology. Throughout college, I was able to serve as a homework helper and as a nanny which fueled my desire to be a tutor. My goal during tutoring sessions is to focus on critical thinking skills, which will help give my students the tools that they will need to be able to solve problems on their own and take what they have learned through their studies and apply it to the real world and their future careers. With the proper tools in hand, a student will be able to find the answers to their problems on their own, which will hopefully allow them to dig deeper into the materials that they are learning. Through this method, I find that a student's confidence truly grows, and they become more responsive and open to the learning process.
