Private tutor in Virginia Beach, VA
As of May 2016, I earned a Master of Science degree in Applied Mathematics at Virginia Commonwealth University with a 4.0 GPA. Prior to attending VCU, I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree at Appalachian State University with a major in Mathematics, concentration in Business, and minor in Statistics. I graduated from ASU with departmental honors and a cumulative GPA of 3.8.
During my entire college career, I have gained a significant amount of experience in helping students succeed in understanding various topics within Mathematics. My most recent experience involves serving as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at VCU. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, I was responsible for instructing an introductory level mathematics course, grading assignments and exams for a Calculus class, and tutoring in coursework ranging from College Algebra to Differential Equations in the University Math Lab. Prior to attending VCU, I served three terms as a Calculus 1 and 2 LEAD tutor (also known as SI, or supplemental instructor). Aside from being professionally employed as a tutor at VCU and ASU, I have also tutored a great deal of students privately. Something that sets myself apart from other private tutors is the fact that I consistently go the extra mile for my students to ensure their success. By doing so, I have helped several individuals hit their goals of making A's and B's in their math classes, score an extra 100 points on the math portion of the SAT, and even begin to enjoy the math problems that they are working on. If you are interested in having me as a tutor, I would love to hear from you! If budget is a concern, I am open to holding group tutoring sessions at a discounted rate per person.
