Frances E.
Private tutor in Virginia Beach, VA
Education
Sophomore English Major with Creative Writing concentration and Minor in Philosophy at Old Dominion University
Experience
I have much experience tutoring young children between the ages of 3-8, as I have been babysitting regularly since I was 12 and have younger siblings as well. My senior year of high school, I took a dual-enrollment course called Virginia Teachers for Tomorrow, in which I learned the fundamentals of teaching K-12 as well as the psychology behind these techniques. In addition to this, I was also given the opportunity to assistant teach third graders at a local elementary school. After earning my Master's in English, I plan to teach the subject overseas, either as a second language or as a form of artistic expression. I find teaching to be a very rewarding and stimulating exchange, and I can say without a doubt it is my passion to educate future generations.

Hobbies
Lately, I enjoy spending my time writing fiction (mostly poetry as of late); reading classic literary works (Virginia Woolf being one of my favorites); studying philosophy, literature, and social justice issues including mental illness stigma, gender inequities, discrimination towards indigenous cultures, POC, and women in social, cultural, and political realms; and connecting with/educating anyone who gives me the opportunity. My passions drive me and permeate through every action I make.
