Experience
I am currently a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Coach at seven different schools that include students of all ages. The best part about being a Math teacher and tutor is taking an intimidating subject that can confuse and frustrate students, and making it understandable. This builds confidence in my students and helps them, not just in Math, but in all of their other subjects as well. I accept mistakes from my students because it becomes a learning opportunity and by giving them the appropriate feedback they learn from the experience. I approach new concepts and principles from many different angles and work with my students to make sure they have a strong understanding of the core material. I tutor in the subject areas of Algebra, Geometry, Elementary and Middle School Math, Statistics, Pre-Algebra, and Special Education. I also do test preparation for the ISEE. I try to build strong relationships and maintain open lines of communication with my students to help the learning process. I graduated from the University of Virginia and have a Master of Education degree in Administration and Supervision. I also attended Old Dominion University where my emphasis was on Education and Counseling. In my spare time I enjoy reading, sports, and paddle-boarding.
