Education

I graduated with high honors from a private school in Norfolk, Virginia in 2014. I am currently a rising sophomore at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Class of 2018. I am a double major in Women's and Gender Studies, and Spanish Literature and pursuing a minor in Psychology. After my first year at UNC, my calculated GPA is 3.6 on a 4.0 scale.

Experience

I have been a tutor for 4 years for children in the first grade-8th grade. I appeal to several different learning types and work at the perfect pace set by the learner. Most importantly, I find way to relate the material one is working to understand, with material that the learner is already familiar with. I did exceptionally well on my Standardized Tests by taking courses which helped me develop efficient study skills- skills that I have shared with other high-schoolers that have helped them excel as well.

Hobbies

I love children and have been a babysitter for several family members and family friends since I was 12 years old, and once I turned 14, I began tutoring. I began dancing 7 years ago, starting with ballet and jazz, then advancing to modern, tap, lyrical, and hip dance as well. I am passionate about social justice issues and have been a part of several pro-active, student-led social justice and diversity organizations that have helped me grow into a more humble, appreciative individual. And when I am not involved with any of these activities, I am likely watching a comedy on my laptop, or listening to country or Indie music while sitting in a tree.
