I began tutoring in high school, informally helping classmates with assignments and teaching SAT Math sessions. I'm well suited to tutoring because I am outgoing and enjoy meeting people. I am able to set a relaxed tone with humor, yet be serious when the situation calls for it. Students tend to learn better when they're at ease and enjoying the experience, and I find it much easier to engage students and spark their interest when they're having fun. Often, the obstacle to understanding isn't the concept itself, but the way the concept is conveyed to the student. Putting those concepts into real world contexts often makes it easier and more inviting for students to engage with the material. I offer tutoring in Elementary Math, Middle School Math, high school/college Math ranging from Pre-Algebra through Calculus, and SAT test preparation. When I'm not working, I enjoy tennis, visual art, piano, and web design.
