I recently earned my associate's degree in Culinary Arts at Johnson & Wales University in Charlotte, NC. I am now in Virginia Beach working toward my bachelor's degree in Food Service Management from Johnson & Wales Online and working in a local restaurant kitchen. I enjoy tutoring Basic Math, English, Reading, Writing, and Algebra I. I enjoy teaching them all, but my favorite subject to tutor is Reading. I believe that good reading skills helps a student achieve better grades in every other subject in school. It also opens many doors in life. I have tutoring and teaching experience working at a Montessori school in Virginia Beach. When I tutor, I first like to build a personal relationship with a student, so I can better get to know them and their needs, and build to their trust. I then tailor my lessons to meet every individual student's unique needs. In my free time, I enjoy spending quality time with my friends, family, and my dog. My dog is half Boxer and half English Bulldog, and her name is Gypsy! I also like going to water-parks or the beach in the summertime, and watching a good movie or listening to some great music when it is cooler outside.
