Experience
I'm a tutor based in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In my spare time I enjoy traveling, going to the gym, learning new languages, and socializing with friends. I have a long history of being a tutor, which dates back to my junior year of high school. While in high school I was a part of the Virginia's Teachers for Tomorrow program. This program allowed me to interact with local middle school students, who I taught French and Spanish. I also served as a teacher's aide in my AP German class, where I worked with students just starting with their German lessons. As my experience shows, I clearly have a deep passion for foreign languages, which I love to share with my students. I set my students on a path towards fluency by helping them develop their foreign language speaking, writing, reading, grammar, vocabulary, and listening. There are many aspects of fluency in a foreign language and I've found that it's very important to spend time focusing on each of them. This targeted focus allows me to avoid the all-too-common occurrence of a foreign language learner being comfortable in a classroom but lost when communicating with a native speaker. To combat this, I focus especially on listening. This allows my students to take what they learn out of the classroom and into the real world. I hope I can help you feel confident in your foreign language, too!
